Youth Dance is increasing
in popularity, mainly due to the opportunities offered to this age group. Youth
Dance England supports dance groups and organises regional and national
competitions, these give youngsters the opportunity to work towards a
performance and offers something to aim towards and be proud of.
Dance for older people is more popular as the benefits have been realised. Chair based people can be included, everybody can move within their capabilities and regular movement helps the body stay supple and strong and the mind feel content with a sense of well being. Dance can be inspired by a person’s history, so the movement can become very personal and self expressive.
