Combinations

What is a combination?

When learning to Ballroom or Latin dance, concentrating on learning single steps is only half of the story. To dance in company we need to be able to move around the floor through a series of connected steps that in these DVDs we call a ‘combination’. Then, when we are comfortable with the steps we need to learn a repertoire of combinations that can be linked together to form a 'routine'.

In the Ballroom DVDs (Waltz, Tango and Quickstep) each combination will take you down one side of the dance floor, at which point we turn, and continue down the next side of the floor. The aim is to travel with your partner around the dance floor in a square.

Combinations two and three on each DVD have been designed to incorporate progressively more complex steps so that you can dance at three different levels.
