Latin - Couple hold

As a Couple, the Leader and Follower should adopt the same strong posture used for Ballroom dancing when Latin dancing. Each partner takes their own position with an upright body, feet together and knees slightly flexed. The Follower joins their right hand to the Leader’s left hand, at eye level. Now step towards each other. The Leader places their right hand on the Follower’s left shoulder blade and the Follower’s left hand is placed on the Leader’s right upper arm. Notice how the Follower is shaping a little to the left, looking over the Leader’s right shoulder, and how the Leader looks over the Follower’s right shoulder. You can now move together around the floor in an anti-clockwise direction, ending in the same position, and maintaining the hold throughout.
